City of Newcastle (CN) is seeking multiple Casual Customer Service Assistants to join the Museum Archives Libraries and Learning (MALL) team at our many exciting locations. We are seeking empathetic and adaptive customer service professionals who always strive to deliver memorable, high-quality service to the community.
As a Casual Customer Service Assistant, you’ll be a friendly touch point for Library and Museum visitors, providing them with relevant and helpful information about the exhibitions, programs, library collections, and the technology available for use at Newcastle Libraries. This role will see you assisting with the preparation of the spaces for venue hire, meetings, events, and programs. You will also assist library visitors with using public access equipment and personal devices on the library network (WIFI).
The Casual Customer Service Assistant will be a strong advocate, always promoting the Museum and Library. The successful candidate will show great pride in their work and always taking initiative, ensuring the museum, libraries, and associated areas are continuously kept in a pleasant and clean state.
The essentials you'll need:
- Current Working with Children Check number or willingness to apply for one
- Willingness to participate in the MALL rotating roster including weekend and public holidays
- Capability to work independently and unsupervised
- A customer centric attitude and strong demonstration of empathy to accommodate the customers’ communication style and general needs
- Sound digital literacy skills and competency with trouble shooting technology
- Experience with mobile, social networking, and event technology
