The City of Newcastle (CN) is offering an exciting opportunity for an Executive Manager Operations to join the Waste Services Business Unit at Summerhill Waste Management Centre.

Reporting to the Managing Director of Waste Services and forming part of the Waste Leadership Team, this position requires an experienced operations leader who can drive performance in complex, waste related operating environments with long-standing team tenure and culture. The successful candidate will need to take an innovative approach to drive safety culture, lead compliant waste related operating teams, as well as develop and deliver budgets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the customer call centre, weighbridge, collections, landfill tip face, public drop off, and service delivery contractor management portfolios. The focus of this role will be on performance and continuous improvement by setting clear direction and objectives, appropriately devolving decision making and delegation of authority, and by establishing and monitoring clear performance indicators for staff.
