City of Newcastle is seeking a passionate and self-motivated Blackbutt Reserve Worker to join the team.

In this exciting new casual role, you will assist in the organisation and delivery of daily activities at Blackbutt Reserve. This includes park maintenance and presentation, implementation of education programs, and caring for animals in accordance with City of Newcastle’s (CN) Code of Safety Practice, WHS Guidelines, and the NSW Exhibited Animals Protection Act. 

The successful candidate will always prioritise the customer's experience. As a casual Blackbutt Reserve Worker, you will communicate effectively with all customers and visitors, striving to enhance and showcase Blackbutt Reserve as a premier tourist destination.

The essentials you’ll need:

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated capability to work unsupervised, using initiative and problem-solving skills to overcome daily issues.
  • Experience in the safe operation of machinery and equipment, and proven ability to undertake general park maintenance activities to agreed service levels.
  • A passion and duty of care for conservation and wildlife.
  • Availability to work a flexible roster including weekend shifts, public holidays, and after-hours activities.
  • NSW Driver's License Class C (manual desirable).
  • Paid Working With Children Check (WWCC).

Remuneration: Casual hourly rate of $41.146 (inclusive of 25% loading) + 11.5% Superannuation. Weekend penalty rates paid as available.
