City of Newcastle has an opportunity for an experienced Bushfire Management Specialist to join our Environment and Sustainability team to support the delivery of the objectives within the Newcastle Environment Strategy 2023 and the Newcastle Bush Fire Management Plan.
As the Bushfire Management Specialist, you will provide high level technical advice to internal and external stakeholders to develop, review and implement policies, strategies and plans of management to achieve best practice bush fire management outcomes to meet council's broader legislative requirements.
You will play a pivotal part in the implementation of updates to Bush Fire Prone Land mapping and report on Council Bushfire management activities.
