• 12-month Full Time opportunity - 35 hours per week
• Utilise your curatorial experience - contributing to the success of Newcastle Museum's cultural collections and exhibition program

City of Newcastle (CN) is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Curator to join our Museum Archive Libraries & Learning (MALL) service unit until June 2026. As a member of our team, you won't just work for the city; you’ll co-create it.

Driving the operation of Newcastle Museum's curatorial program, this role leads the interpretation, expansion, and access provision of our extensive collections, ensuring public availability via a program of exhibitions, in-person access, digitisation and collection database development.  You will manage the expansion of the collection via donations and acquisitions and be responsible for activating these collections by researching and writing original exhibitions that share stories for and about Newcastle across multiple sites.

Our Curator will undertake a significant community leadership role focussed on community engagement and access to the story of Newcastle and the development of systems and processes that provide practical benefit for community groups and partners.

Remuneration: $104,536.76 + 17.5% annual leave loading yearly payment + 12% Superannuation per annum for a 35-hour week
