ABOUT YOU
Our ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical knowledge and interpersonal skills necessary for effective project management in the water industry. We are looking for a proactive and ambitious individual who is values driven, with a flexible approach and a high level of self-motivation to grow quickly within this role.
Additionally, the candidate should be adaptable to changing priorities and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
You will need:
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (AQF level 7) with a minimum of two years' experience in a similar role within the water industry
- Possession of a General Construction Induction Card (White Card) and a Provisional Driver’s License (minimum)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and mediate effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Water & Wastewater Engineer, you will lead and manage the full project lifecycle of the capital and maintenance program for water and wastewater infrastructure, including treatment, pump stations, and reticulation networks. You will ensure the effective and efficient use of resources in line with safety, environmental, and budget provisions.
This role suits a practical, technically skilled, solutions-focused engineer who is equally comfortable in the field as they are in the office. You will take an active role in onsite works and contractor management to drive efficient project delivery and support the long-term sustainability of critical assets.
This full-time position is classified as Band 3 Level 3 ($98,540 - $118,000) under Council's salary system in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award, working a nine-day fortnight, 35 hours per week.
