ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, who enjoys a hands-on role and has a knack for working both independently and as part of a team. To be successful you will need:
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks associated with signage installation
- Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plans qualifications
- Class MR Driver's License (or LR minimum, with a willingness to obtain MR)
- Construction Induction (White) Card
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software applications quickly
- Strong time management skills and the ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads
- Sound knowledge of WHS principles
- Capable of managing competing priorities, and comfortable working independently
The successful applicant will be required to camp out of town throughout the Shire during the week and be available to work extended hours, including weekends.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Road Signage Maintenance Officer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of roadside signs and traffic control infrastructure. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and safety standards, thereby enhancing road safety and effective traffic management across state highways and local Council roads.
This full time position is classified at Band 1, Level 3 ($29.09/hr - $33.68/hr) plus applicable allowances under council's salary system in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award, working a nine-day fortnight, 38 hours per week.
Candidates must be available to work overtime and extended hours in accordance with the works program, including the ocassional weekends and call outs for emergency response.
