Early Learning Centre Manager

Job No: COB2548
Location: Cobar, NSW

  • Cobar, NSW
  • Salary negotiable
  • $100/week subsidised housing (3-bedroom home) + relocation support

This is a rare leadership opportunity to run a brand-new, architect-designed long day care centre in regional NSW - while enjoying a lifestyle and financial position that metro roles simply can’t match.

Cobar Shire Council’s Early Learning Centre opened in October 2024 and is the only long day care service in the town, purpose-built to service up to 80 children and plays a vital role in our community.

The role

As Early Learning Centre Coordinator / Manager, you’ll lead the centre’s next phase of growth, building on a strong foundation and guiding a young, multicultural team with empathy and clarity.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading day-to-day operations of the long day care service
  • Acting as Nominated Supervisor (and Educational Leader when required)
  • Mentoring and supporting educators through change and development
  • Ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework and continuous improvement
  • Managing budgets, utilisation, quality, and community relationships
  • Supporting future growth and expansion of the service

About you

You’re an experienced early childhood leader who balances compliance with compassion. You lead calmly, inclusively, and collaboratively — bringing people with you rather than directing from above.

You’ll bring:

  • An ACECQA-approved ECT qualification (or be well progressed with strong leadership experience)
  • Proven experience managing or coordinating an early learning service
  • Strong emotional intelligence and cultural awareness
  • A child-centred, play-based philosophy
  • Confidence to lead, mentor, and uplift a diverse team

About the Benefits

  • Remuneration Negotiable
  • Three-bedroom home included
  • Relocation assistance
  • Nine-day fortnight (35 hours/week)
  • Two-week Christmas shutdown
  • Extensive professional development (18-month funded training program)
  • Paid parental leave, generous leave entitlements, and wellbeing days
  • Gym and seasonal pool access
