Council owns and operates the Cobar Shire & TAFE Library, Great Cobar Museum and Visitor Information Centre, Lilliane Brady Village (residential aged care facility), Children's Services, Youth & Community Centre as well as works depots in Cobar and Euabalong.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a kind, caring and reliable individual to help our team deliver high-quality education and care for the children at our long daycare service. 

The sucessfull candidate will be supported to deliver engaging programs that build children's confidence and capability through play. Most importantly, we need a team player who is willing to listen, learn, and build positive relationships with children and families to create a safe, fun, and nurturing learning environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Lead Educator of each room, all educators are responsible for:

  • Implementing our play based learning program
  • Assisting with the documentaiton of children's learning and development
  • Maintaining a safe and welcoming learning environment
  • Ensuring the room operates in accordance with the required standards, legislation, and regulations.

The Early Learning Centre (affectionately known as the ELC) currently has three rooms - infants (6mths-2yrs), toddlers (2-3yrs), and preschool (3-5yrs). Our new service has allowed us to offer a significant number of additional placements for families within our community, but there is still a strong demand, so we need to keep growing.

Cobar Shire Council is committed to the safety and well-being of children and young people. All applicants will undergo background checks, including working with children check (if over 18 years of age), reference checking, and must comply with our child protection policies to ensure a safe environment for all. 

This is a full time position, working 38 hours each week - including paid training time. The successful applicant will complete a Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care through supported online learning. 

The wage will be dependent on age ranging from $22.77 - $26.06 per hour + the Workforce Retention allowance.
