Council owns and operates the Cobar Shire & TAFE Library, Great Cobar Museum, Lilliane Brady Village (aged care facility), Children's Services, Youth & Community Centre as well as works depots in Euabalong and Cobar.

Our brand new Early Learning Centre (ELC) has been architecturally designed specifically to exceed best practice industry standards and is expected to be 'open for business' any day now, with the licensed capacity to accommodate up to 88 children.
ABOUT YOU
- An experienced administrator, proficient user across the Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to quickly and capably to learn new software.
- Organised, motivated, and continuously looking for ways to improve.
- Possess excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with both the team and families.
- Ability to adapt to new situations, show initiative, and positively respond to challenges.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Maturity to deal with sensitive and confidential matters.
- Hold a Certificate III (minimum) in Early Childhood Education & Care.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Administration Officer at our Early Learning Centre will provide quality, professional, and efficient administrative support to the children's services team, as well as exceptional customer service for and on behalf of Council. Children's services includes long day care, family day care, in home care, and outside of school hours care.
Staffing is the number one challenge for the early childhood sector, therefore to sustain operational efficiency, everyone working at the ELC will hold (or be working towards) qualifications in early childhood education and care. One of the key requirements of this role will be a flexible, do what is needed attitude, being willing and able to work as an educator 'on the floor' whenever required to cover lunch breaks and/or unplanned leave, to maintain ratio compliance across all services.
Ideally working full-time hours (35 hours a week, 9-day fortnight), however for the right candidate, we may consider negotiating flexible work hours and days. With a classification band ranging from $33.12 - $38.34/hr (dependent on skills and experience); employment terms and conditions are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
