About the team
The Cost Intelligence team is part of Infrastructure Gold Coast’s Infrastructure Delivery branch. Our team operates across three core functions: Cost Estimation, Cost Intelligence, and Cost Assurance, supporting evidence-based investment decisions across Infrastructure Gold Coast. You’ll be joining a collaborative, technically skilled team that works closely with project delivery, procurement, engineering, and finance stakeholders to ensure value for money is achieved for the Gold Coast community.
About the role
As our Cost Assurance Lead, you will lead the City’s cost assurance processes across the project lifecycle. You’ll conduct independent cost reviews, cost analysis, validate estimates against scope and market conditions, and implement the frameworks and governance that ensure consistency, transparency, and value for money across our capital works program.
You’ll play a vital leadership role by mentoring cost estimators, performing Assurance reviews, and lifting team capability. You will also be involved in decision-making processes and provide input into estimating guidelines, governance documentation, and other related frameworks.
We’re looking for people who have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
- Demonstrated experience in a cost assurance or senior estimating role, with a track record of leading reviews and mentoring teams
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex cost data into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of building trades, civil trades, and specialist trades relevant to municipal infrastructure measurement and pricing
- Proficiency with estimating software such as Cubit, and strong skills in Excel and Power BI
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels
