About the team:
The City Inspectorate branch is responsible for enforcement of the City’s standards and local laws, across building, community, public safety and environmental health compliance to protect safety and amenity for the City’s residents and visitors. The Community Compliance business unit is responsible for patrolling and enforcing parking laws in Paid Parking and Timed Parking areas, off-street regulated parking areas, designated disabled parking bays, and respond to and investigate complaints and breaches of parking regulations. Review and manage unpaid parking fines and related disputes. Deliver animal management initiatives to residents including patrols and enforcement, impounding and off leash facilities, pet education, and complaints management, to ensure animals are appropriately cared for and managed in compliance with legislation.
About the role:
An exciting permanent opportunity exists to embed yourself within the Planning & Regulation team as a Parking Appeals Officer.
This position reports to the Team Leader Parking Appeals and is responsible for providing a diverse range of technical services specific to parking appeals within the City Inspectorate Branch.
You will carry out a variety of parking appeals tasks, including but not limited to:
- Processing of parking appeal requests and infringement reviews in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Following defined parking appeals systems and associated processes to deal with confidential and sensitive data and information within policy and procedure framework.
- Applying critical thinking skills and effectively communicating with internal and external parties.

- High attention to detail, with excellent communication skills, and the ability to clearly articulate decision making and parking legislation verbally and in writing.
- Working knowledge of Pathway is preferred, together with the ability to learn applicable corporate and parking software systems, programs, and packages to deliver required outcomes.
- Efficient time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines independently, and in a timely manner.
