About the team
The Transport Delivery team delivers a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects that support the City of Gold Coast’s transport network and community connectivity. Our program includes road upgrades, sustainable transport infrastructure, intersection improvements, shared paths and transport asset renewal.
Working within Infrastructure Delivery branch, the team manages a significant multi-year capital works program and collaborates closely with planning, design, asset management teams and industry partners to deliver high-quality outcomes for the community.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Program Manager who can support the coordination and oversight of the Transport capital works program. In this role, you’ll work closely with Coordinators and Project Managers to help maintain strong program alignment, governance and delivery readiness across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee program governance activities and prepare consolidated program information to support decision making and approval milestones
- Coordinate the alignment and scheduling of transport infrastructure projects within the capital works program to support efficient delivery
- Monitor project readiness across early delivery phases to ensure projects are appropriately prepared to progress through key approval and delivery stages
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance delivery efficiency through improved program coordination, delivery approaches and resource planning
- Provide strategic guidance to Project Managers to ensure consistent application of organisational project management practices and governance requirements
- Assist in maintaining oversight of the capital program, including financial projections, reporting and updates in collaboration with finance and planning teams
- Monitor and communicate program-level resource utilisation and capacity, identifying emerging constraints and sequencing impacts
We’re looking for people who have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent and relevant experience
- Diploma in Project Management or equivalent and relevant experience
- Driver Licence Class C Car
- Strong program coordination and organisational skills, able to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- Experience navigating structured governance and approval processes
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including project teams, internal departments, service providers, and delivery partners
- Sound judgement and problem-solving skills to address program risks, issues, and delivery challenges
- Attention to detail in managing program information, reporting, and financial inputs
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and evolving project requirements
