About the team
The Utilities Facilities Delivery team manages the planning and delivery of all capital works projects across sewage treatment plants, including new infrastructure, upgrades, and renewals. Operating across the City’s four sewerage treatment plants, the team is responsible for delivering safe, reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective utilities infrastructure aligned with the City of Gold Coast’s strategic goals and High-Performance Principles.
Through a multidisciplinary approach, the team integrates safety and wellbeing into every stage of project delivery, from design through to construction and commissioning. A strong emphasis is placed on achieving positive community outcomes while ensuring long-term sustainability and resilience of essential infrastructure.
About the role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to support the delivery of safe and efficient emergent and renewal projects within Sewerage Treatment Plants (STPs). Working closely with Senior Engineers, this role focuses on project coordination, waste service management, and the development and implementation of safety systems, processes, and reporting frameworks. The position plays a key role in facilitating collaboration between contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective service delivery.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the coordination and delivery of STP renewal and emergent works, ensuring safety, quality, and timeliness
- Act as a key liaison between contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to enable smooth project execution
- Conduct site inspections and provide actionable insights to support project outcomes
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, safety systems, and service delivery
- Manage stakeholder enquiries and assist in resolving issues with practical, value-driven solutions.
- Ensure project activities comply with relevant legislation, policies, and standards
We’re looking for people who have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent and relevant experience
- Certificate IV in Project Management or equivalent and relevant experience
- C Class Driver’s License
- Experience in infrastructure, utilities, or wastewater/sewerage treatment environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience with site-based inspections or project support activities
- Commitment to continuous improvement and delivering efficient, high-quality outcomes.
