About the team

The Utilities Network Maintenance team is responsible for maintaining all passive utility infrastructure including water, sewerage and stormwater network assets. This area delivers both planned and unplanned (24/7) maintenance for water and wastewater infrastructure assets for the City.

About the role 

Under the direction of the Supervisor Civil Maintenance/Construction, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of infrastructure including water mains, sewer mains, valves, hydrants, water meters and manholes.

  • Ensure a high level of quality communication is provided to all customers
  • Promote and facilitate a positive working relationship with our service delivery partners
  • Oversee and ensure that Workplace Health and Safety, Environment and other legislative requirements are complied with
  • Ensure efficient utilisation of plant and contract services
  • Promote and contribute to a positive and healthy workplace
  • Take part in after-hours callouts in a defined roster

We’re looking for people who have: 

  • MR drivers’ licence (Mandatory)
  • General Construction Induction White Card (Mandatory)
  • Ability to maintain a Statement of Attainment to Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
  • Proficiency in using related technology for work purposes such as iPad, computer, email, SAP
  • A level of physical fitness that is required to perform the duties of the position. This includes heavy manual work, working at low/ground levels, working on uneven ground, lifting and carrying.
