- Position Brief - Senior Project Manager
About the role
We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to oversee the delivery of complex municipal infrastructure projects, including bridge reconstruction and rehabilitation, landslip remediation and retaining wall repair and reconstruction, road reconstruction, pedestrian bridge reconstruction and rehabilitation, as well as public transport, intelligent transport systems, and other specialised transport initiatives.
You’ll take ownership of projects from early planning through to construction, ensuring outcomes are practical, compliant, and aligned with broader city objectives. This role blends technical expertise, leadership, and strategic oversight to deliver infrastructure that meets real community needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing end-to-end delivery of major infrastructure projects
- Coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including external consultants and contractors
- Providing expert guidance to support design, procurement, and delivery decisions
- Navigating regulatory and compliance requirements across all project stages
- Identifying and resolving complex transport and network challenges
- Mentoring and supporting junior project officers and project managers
We’re looking for people who have:
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex infrastructure or transport projects
- Demonstrated experience with delivering bridge rehabilitation projects
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Decisive leader with a high level of accountability
- Confidence to communicate complex information clearly and effectively
- Proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation
- Adaptable and responsive in dynamic project environments
