About the team
Are you a finance professional looking to make an impact in one of Australia’s largest local governments? We are building a talent pool for upcoming opportunities across a range of finance roles, including Accountants, Accounts Payable Officers, and other general finance positions.

About the Opportunities
Accountant
As an Accountant, you will provide financial advice and support to departments, deliver management accounting services, and contribute to business improvement initiatives.
You’ll be involved in:

Analysing financial performance, including budget vs actuals

Preparing journals, reconciliations, and financial reports
-
Supporting departments with financial queries and insights
-
Working with systems such as SAP, PowerBI and other reporting tools
-
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and financial outcomes
We’re looking for:
-
Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent experience
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-
High attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets
-
Effective communication skills to engage with stakeholders
-
Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
-
A proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
Accounts Payable Officer
As an Accounts Payable Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, supporting the delivery of efficient and compliant financial services.
You’ll be involved in:

Processing invoices in line with policies, procedures and GST requirements

Managing shared mailboxes and responding within required timeframes

Reviewing and resolving outstanding invoices

Ensuring accuracy and efficiency in payment processing
We’re looking for:

Certificate III in Accounts Administration or equivalent experience
-
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
-
Ability to work in a high-volume processing environment
-
Good organisational and time management skills
-
Strong communication and customer service focus
-
Ability to follow processes while identifying improvements
