About the team
Community Facilities Maintenance is a service provider for the City’s Asset managers providing all electrical maintenance and minor installations when requested. The goal of the Electrical Team is to add value to the City, maintain its electrical assets at a high level, and provide a detailed level of service that is professional and efficient.
About the role
This position is responsible for electrical maintenance of lighting, pumps, power reticulation, electrical control systems and emergency power generation in Council's assets.
These assets include: administration buildings, libraries, sports venues, aquatic centres, community centres, urban precincts, street and car park lighting, bus stops, parks, BBQ's, public amenities, shelters, water features, lakes and water bodies, navigational locks, and pump stations.
- Undertake repairs and maintenance duties (hands-on)
- Complete all works within allotted timeframes
- Ensure all electrical work undertaken is compliant with AS3000, Qld Electrical Safety Act & Regulations, Electrical Safety Act Codes of Practice and WH&S Act
- Assist in the development and training of apprentices
- Identify areas and actions within the planned maintenance scope that will improve the economic and operational life of plant and equipment
We’re looking for people who have:
- Certificate III in Electrical (Electrician/Electrical Mechanic (Mandatory)
- Queensland Electrical Mechanic Licence (Mandatory)
- General Construction Induction White Card (Mandatory)
- C Class Drivers Licence (unrestricted) (Mandatory)
- Low Voltage Rescue and CPR certificate
- Self-motivation and the ability to get the ‘job done right’ with limited supervision
