About the role

As the Strategy and Planning Lead, you will drive the delivery of the City’s strategic priorities by leading and improving the City’s Integrated Planning Framework. Working across the organisation, you’ll guide the development of key strategy and planning documents, including the Council Plan, annual Operational Plan and Annual Report.

You’ll partner with leaders to provide advice and practices to ensure the City’s vision and priorities are operationalised in a consistent way across the whole organisation.

This is a 12-month Full Time Fixed Term opportunity to influence city-wide outcomes, improve organisational performance and make a real difference to the Gold Coast.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Lead the development and review of the City’s Council Plan and related strategic planning frameworks.
  • Lead the annual planning cycles ensuring all activities align with strategy.
  • Lead collaboration across departments to develop and implement effective solutions to complex matters.
  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of service plans to ensure alignment with organisational priorities and community outcomes.
  • Interpret and present complex data in a meaningful way.

We’re looking for people who have:

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, collaborate effectively and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of service management, including service planning, performance reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of asset management and its role in supporting service delivery.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, translating complex data into meaningful insights.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI and other business intelligence systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
