Please Note. The salary range is $138,896 - $171,718 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading. The salary range is commensurate with working a 10-day fortnight and may include a negotiable attraction and retention payment that is determined based on your qualifications, skills and experience and is subject to annual reviews.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Certifying Engineer to join our Civil and Stormwater team! This role is responsible for providing independent technical review and certification of civil infrastructure designs, ensuring projects are compliant, practical to construct and meet the City's standards and legislative requirements.
Please note this role may evolve to include the management of up to two direct reports.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide technical review and certification of civil infrastructure designs prior to construction.
- Apply engineering expertise to identify technical risks and ensure designs are safe, practical and fit for purpose.
- Work closely with designers, project managers and consultants to resolve technical issues and achieve quality project outcomes.
- Provide specialist engineering advice to support decision-making across a range of infrastructure projects.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of engineering standards, processes and design practices.
- Maintain a high standard of technical governance and professional engineering practice.
We’re looking for people who have:
- Significant experience in the design, review or certification of civil infrastructure projects.
- A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, engineering standards and local government requirements.
- Experience providing technical advice and resolving complex engineering issues.
- Well-developed communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent experience
- Current C Class Driver's Licence
