About the team
The Utilities Network Maintenance is responsible for the operation, maintenance (planned and unplanned) and assessment of the passive assets associated with drinking water, non-drinking water and sewerage networks, pumping stations, tanks, reservoirs and associated civil and structural facilities.
The branch is responsible for the delivery, under normal conditions, of a continuous supply of safe and reliable drinking water. During emergency situations, Asset Reliability will coordinate the provision of drinking water to critical customers and service areas and will restore services as quickly as possible, when interruptions have occurred.
About the role
This role is suited to someone who has experience in leak detection, auditing and inspections of pipework and water assets using CCTV and various leak detection devices.
- Support internal and contractor resources to deliver defined outcomes within the planned maintenance area.
- Oversee the delivery of maintenance plans, including administration of the program within SAP.
- Undertake maintenance, auditing and investigation work on water and sewer networks throughout the City.
- Ensure all work is performed to meet safety, environmental and legislative requirements.
- Complete work in accordance with the relevant codes and standards.
- Provide a high standard of service to meet customers’ expectations and the units’ service and operational standards.
- Participating in planned maintenance activities (hands on).
We’re looking for people who have:
- C Class Drivers Licence (Unrestricted) (Mandatory)
- General Construction Induction Card (White) (Mandatory)
- Demonstrated experience using CCTV and other devices to carry out audit inspections and perform leak detection of water and wastewater assets
- A detailed approach to their work, ensuring all tasks are performed to meet quality, safety, environmental and legislative requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to liaise with a range of external customers and internal staff across the City
- A positive outlook and can self-motivate themselves to work with minimal supervision
- A proven capacity to apply initiative, judgement, and resources effectively to achieve organisational goals within required timeframes
- A natural affinity for teamwork
- You possess effective numeracy and literacy skills
