This is a key opportunity for a technically capable GIS or integration professional with strong troubleshooting and integration skills who thrive on solving complex spatial challenges and improving how the City uses location intelligence to serve the community.
About your new role
The Geospatial Support Officer is responsible for supporting the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of Council’s geospatial integration platform.
It works closely with the Geospatial Application Developer and services and support teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and stability of integrations between ArcGIS and enterprise systems. This includes troubleshooting incidents, resolving data and workflow issues, and contributing to the continuous improvement of integration services.
The role has a strong operational focus on FME workflows and integration services as the City’s primary spatial integration platform, while also supporting the appropriate use of other approved integration and data platforms where they form part of the geospatial data lifecycle.
What you'll do

- Provide operational support for FME Form and FME Flow environments.
- Monitor, support, and maintain FME workflows, schedules, and automation processes.
- Investigate and resolve integration incidents, workflow failures, and data processing errors.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimise recurrence.
- Assist in the optimisation and enhancement of integration workflows and data pipelines.
- Assist with data transformation, migration, and integration tasks across spatial and non-spatial datasets.
- Collaborate with GIS teams to ensure FME processes align with ArcGIS data structures and publishing requirements.
2. ArcGIS Platform Support
- Provide operational support for ArcGIS Enterprise services, applications, and integrations.
- Assist with troubleshooting issues related to web services, data publishing, and application functionality.
- Support the resolution of incidents escalated by business or ICT support teams.
3. Collaboration and Delivery
- Work closely with the Geospatial Application Developer to support integration delivery and ongoing operations.
- Collaborate with ICT teams and business units to investigate and resolve integration-related issues.
- Contribute to minor enhancements, configuration changes, and deployment activities.
4. Documentation and Continuous Improvement
- Maintain and update technical documentation, runbooks, and support procedures for integration services.
- Ensure support activities align with organisational ICT, security, and data governance standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve system stability, performance, and support processes.
5. Incident and Problem Management
- Participate in incident and problem management processes, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
- Provide clear communication to stakeholders regarding issue status, impacts, and resolution outcomes.
We’re looking for people who have:
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Geospatial Science, or a related discipline; or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with data integration tools (preferably FME or similar platforms).
- Experience supporting integration workflows, automation processes, or data pipelines.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise or comparable GIS platforms.
- Experience with Python scripting, REST APIs, and web mapping technologies (e.g. Esri Leaflet, JavaScript mapping libraries) is desirable.
- Understanding of IT service management practices (e.g. incident and problem management).
