About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Transport Systems Analyst to help shape the future of transport on the Gold Coast. In this role, you’ll transform data from Intelligent Transport Systems into real insights that improve how our city moves. From planning and infrastructure to day-to-day operations.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead the review and analysis of operational performance metrics for the Gold Coast transport network.
  • Provide high-level technical support and analytics to monitor and report on the City’s Transport Strategy.
  • Deliver detailed route and corridor performance analyses to maximise the operational efficiency of the transport system.
  • Coordinate and enhance the collection, quality, and usability of transport and traffic data to support network performance improvements.
  • Prepare and report on the Council Plan’s Travel Time Reliability key performance indicator.
  • Conduct traffic impact analyses and develop options to support future growth and network planning.
  • Support the adoption, integration, and lifecycle management of Intelligent Transport System (ITS) technologies for data collection and analysis

We’re looking for people who have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree relevant to the position (e.g. engineering, planning) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience as a traffic professional.
  • Knowledge of modern traffic performance indicator methodologies, practices and analytics.
  • Unrestricted ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence.
  • You thrive on applying innovative approaches to programs and problem solving.
  • You foster positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • You contribute to supporting outcomes that help build a connected and intelligent transport network for the Gold Coast.
  • You have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; with experience in education awareness campaigns and writing reports.
  • You work productively in a team environment and foster positive relationships with other team members.
