Community Support Worker

A gentleman in his 30s living in Redland Bay with his family is looking for a kind, compassionate support worker who can confidently assist him out an about in the community. He is into bowling, music, colouring in and basketball. He also enjoys riding on trains and taking trips over to Coochiemudlo Island. He enjoys an active life, but likes structure and routine. Currently he requires community linking 3 times a week. The ideal candidate will be active, fit and strong, with experience providing support in the community and working with behaviours that may, at times, require calming and de-escalating. While male support workers are preferred, female applicants will also be considered.

The Role:

  • Community Participation
  • Assistance to manager behaviour
  • Assistance with Daily Living
  • Prompting with Self Care

Shifts:

  • Monday – 9am – 3pm
  • Thursday – 9am – 3pm
  • Additional day – 9 am – 3pm (flexible as to which day)

*18 – 20 hours available per week*

Pay rates:

  • Monday to Friday 6am to 8pm shift - $38.50 per hour
  • Monday to Friday 8pm - 6am shift - $43.12 per hour
  • Saturday - $53.90 per hour
  • Sunday - $69.30 per hour
  • Public Holidays - $84.70 per hour
  • Sleepover allowance $80.00 per shift

Essential requirements:

  • +1 years experience Disability support work
  • Experience providing assistance to manage behaviour
  • Open Driver’s license and own vehicle with insurance
  • Live within reasonable travelling distance to Redland Bay
  • Current First Aid Certificate & CPR
  • NDIS Worker Screening (or willing to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Flexibility to pick up additional hours when needed
