Disability Support Worker

About the role:

I am a 33 year old male living at home with my mother in Everton Hills. My interests are developing my creative writing skills, landscape photography, board games including chess, building my 60’s to 90’s music collection and attending a book club. I belong to the Brisbane Social Club. I have studied philosophy and take a keen interest in current affairs and politics. I also keep fit using my outdoor gym. I work two days per week for an NGO nursing support service. I enjoy spending time with my older brothers and other family members on a regular basis. I need a support worker who has an interest in literature and can read well aloud. I prefer support workers who enjoy good conversation while they support me.

You will be joining my support worker team and covering a range of the following shifts: 

  • Monday - 5pm – 8pm
  • Wednesday - 5pm – 8pm
  • Fortnightly Saturdays - 9am - 12:30pm
  • Fridays 8:15am - 2pm (TBC)
  • Plus additional shifts when support staff are on leave

You will have:

There will be a meet and greet for the family to decide if you will be a good match.

Pay Rates:
  • Monday to Friday 6am to 8pm shift - $38.50 per hour
  • Monday to Friday 8pm - 6am shift - $43.12 per hour
  • Saturday - $53.90 per hour
  • Sunday - $69.30 per hour
  • Public Holidays - $84.70 per hour
  • Sleepover allowance $80.00 per shift

Applicant Requirements or willing to obtain:

  • First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Criminal History checks
  • Working with Children card (Blue card)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’ (or willing to obtain)
  • Rights to Work in Australia
