Disability Support Worker

A mature aged lady in Bethania is looking for an experienced support worker who is:

  • Fit, active and a competent swimmer
  • An effective communicator with a high level of English proficiency
  • Able to assist with Speech therapy homework and communication support
  • Able to provide transport with a clean, tidy, accessible/low set car (no 4WD or high vehicles)
  • Confident parking in Bethania and driving around Logan area and into the city

Highly regarded:

  • Experience with Epilepsy / Seizure management
  • Experience with Brain injuries

*Epilepsy Training provided by Allied Health Team*

The Role:

  • Support with swimming and hydrotherapy
  • Support with exercise and therapy plans
  • Domestic tasks and cooking
  • Community access
  • Transport to attend appointments
  • Support with communication (emails, texts. Administration tasks)

Shifts:

  • Monday – 6-8 hour shift
  • Thursdays – 6-8 hour shift
  • Fridays – 6-8 hour shift
  • Additional shifts when staff are on leave

Pay Rate:

  • Monday to Friday 6am to 8pm shift - $38.50 per hour
  • Monday to Friday 8pm - 6am shift - $43.12 per hour
  • Saturday - $53.90 per hour
  • Sunday - $69.30 per hour
  • Public Holidays - $84.70 per hour

Essential requirements:

  • +2 years experience Disability support work
  • Open Driver’s license and own vehicle with insurance
  • Live within reasonable travelling distance
  • Current First Aid Certificate & CPR
  • NDIS Worker Screening/Yellow Card (or willing to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Flexibility to pick up additional hours when needed
