Female Disability Support Worker

A 38-year-old Latina woman living with her family in Sherwood is seeking a mature-minded, female support worker. She enjoys reading, writing, painting, going to the park and listening to music. Her friendly family values their clean and peaceful home, and they share it with their beloved cat named Pickets who serves as a therapy support animal.

The ideal candidate for this role will be highly respectful of the family home, acutely aware of professional boundaries and attentive to their duty of care. They will be happy to assist in caring for the family cat and demonstrate precise attention to detail with household tasks. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in disability support is required and certification in disability support desirable.

Key Duties:

  • Assistance with Daily Living
  • Domestic tasks
  • Mobility support
  • Transport to appointments
  • Community Access
  • Garden maintenance
  • Meal preparation
  • Mobility support
  • Support with communication (phone calls and email)

Shifts:

  • Monday - 8am - 2pm
  • Monday - 4pm - 9pm
  • Wednesday - 6pm - 10pm
  • Sunday - 10am - 3pm (fortnightly) 
  • Flexibility to pick up extra shifts when other workers are on leave

Requirements:

  • +2 years experience in disability support
  • NDIS Disability Worker's Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
  • Current Open Queensland Drivers License 
  • Current First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain)
  • Cat Friendly and willing to assist with animal care
  • Live within reasonable travelling distance
  • Certification in Disability / Aged Care highly regarded

Pay Rates:

  • Monday to Friday 6am to 8pm shift - $37.08 per hour
  • Monday to Friday 8pm - 6am shift - $41.53 per hour
  • Saturday - $51.92 per hour
  • Sunday - $66.75 per hour
  • Public Holidays - $81.59 per hour
