This three-year fulltime traineeship opportunity, first year employed by CEG with Whyalla City Council as the host employer, transferring to Whyalla City Council employment for the remaining two years, will see the successful candidate working across our civil construction and maintenance operational teams, gaining valuable skills and experience across all facets of our City’s outdoor civil construction and infrastructure areas, whilst studying towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart a long-term career with Local Government. Employment will be with Career Employment Group upon commencement and you will be hosted by the City of Whyalla in a bipartisan agreement.
What you can expect to do:
As a trainee, you will gain practical skills on the safe operation of plant, equipment and tools and you will assist in providing safe roadways and walkways for the City. This may include concreting and formwork, footpath, road, kerb and gutter maintenance and repairs.
