Early Childhood Teacher

  • The Whyalla City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic person to join our Childcare Centre as an Early Childhood Teacher. This is a permanent full-time position, permanent part-time will be considered.

About the role:

The Early Childhood Teacher will provide leadership in delivering high-quality, inclusive programs meeting the requirements of the Early Years Learning Framework and curriculums.  The role will model the effective application of pedagogy in teaching practice and will build and maintain strong, positive relationships with children and families while supporting the Childcare Centre Coordinator on a journey of continuous improvement.

About you:

To be considered for the role, you will enjoy forming ongoing professional relationships with children and families and hold the following qualifications and attributes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person who has:

  • Early Childhood Teacher qualification or working towards as approved by ACECQA and a current Teachers’ registration
  • Current Working with Children Check or ability to obtain
  • Mandatory Reporting – Responding to Abuse and Neglect Training or ability to obtain
  • Extensive understanding and knowledge of the National Quality Standards Framework and the principles of Early Years Learning Framework
  • High level of integrity and honesty and a humble ‘can do’ attitude
  • A willingness to learn and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced changing environment

This is a permanent full-time position, permanent part-time will be considered 

The salary applicable for this role is in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers' Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement, paid at a Level 3 which currently equates to $81,851 per annum, paid pro-rata for hours worked.
