About the role:

As part of the Capital Works Delivery team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Whyalla City Council’s Capital Works Program. This position will provide hands-on experience in project and contract management, assisting senior staff in program planning, budgeting and project execution. You will also contribute to the development of tender documents, stakeholder engagement and compliance with safety and quality standards. 

The Capital Works team will mentor and coach the successful candidate on a pathway to success.

We are looking for a person with:

  • Experience in program, project or contract management or relevant transferrable skills.
  • Effective management of timeframes, budgets and quality requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in written reports and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements in project management.
  • A committed approach to continuous improvement with well-developed analytical, research, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • A dedicated commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.

The salary applicable for this role is in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers' Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement, paid at Level 4 commencing at $90,388, depending on skills and experience.
