About the role:
We're seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Assistant Childcare Educator to join our Childcare team. Some of the duties and responsibilities include:
- Provide responsive, nurturing care, educational support and supervision to children aged 0–5
- Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate, play-based learning experiences
- Complete observation and progress records and documentation of children’s development
- Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and team members
- Promote the health, safety and well-being of children at all times
- Ensure compliance with National Quality Standards, regulations and policies
- Maintain daily routines for the children and work collaboratively within a supportive and inclusive team environment
About you:
Ideally, you will have completed or be close to completing a minimum of a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and have prior experience working with children.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person who has:
- Minimum of a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or currently towards an ACECQA approved child care qualification
- A valid DHS Working with Children Clearance (SA) or ability to obtain prior to commencement
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) current certification in Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (including CPR and basic emergency life support), Safe Environments for Children and Young People – “Through Their Eyes”, SIDS & Kids Safe Sleeping training, and Food Safety Training for Food Handlers
- Prior experience working with children, a genuine passion for making a difference, a humble ‘can do’ attitude, adaptability in a fast-paced environment, the ability to build rapport with others, respectful communication skills, and the confidence to work independently when needed

The salary applicable for this role is in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers' Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement, paid at Level 1A commencing at $58,683 (Adult), paid pro-rata for hours worked and casual loading applies.
