About the role:
Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Work Health Safety and Risk Advisor plays a critical role in supporting the creation, implementation and ongoing management of Council’s safety and risk systems. Working in partnership with the Work Health Safety and Risk Business Partner and the People and Culture team, this position ensures legislative compliance and contributes to a proactive and integrated approach to WHS and Risk across Council.
Council is currently overhauling and implementing a new suite of work health safety and risk policy, procedures, processes and documentation. This is an exciting time for someone who has a passion and holds experience for supporting the safety and wellbeing, including risk mitigation strategies in the workplace.
You will be responsible for a broad range of duties, including:
The Work Health Safety and Risk Advisor will maintain and oversee operational risk initiatives, supporting the Work Health Safety and Risk Business Partner in strategic risk, organisational risk management, emergency management and business continuity planning.
Your ability to think laterally, manage competing priorities, uphold high standards of documentation, and work collaboratively across departments will be essential to the success of this role.

You are an experienced and passionate WHS and/or Risk professional who has the desire to learn, takes initiative, demonstrates a high level of accuracy and communicates effectively across all levels of the organisation.

The salary applicable for this role is in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers' Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement, paid at Level 4 commencing at $90,338.
