Creative Media Officer

About the role:

We are seeking a motivated Creative Media Officer to join our Media and Communications team. Some of the duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Developing engaging content for social media platforms, website, video, podcasts, publications and marketing collateral 
  • Capturing and producing high-quality photography and videography content 
  • Designing creative, innovative and community-focused communications 
  • Researching best practice and identifying new ways to enhance Council’s reputation and community engagement 
  • Assisting in the development of communication strategies aligned to Council’s Strategic Plan

About you:

You are a creative thinker with a strong eye for visual storytelling and a passion for community engagement. You enjoy working collaboratively while also being able to manage projects independently.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person who has:

  • Proven skills in photography, videography and graphic design 
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign and Photoshop) and audio/video editing software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences 
  • The ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across all levels of Council
  • A current driver’s licence 
  • A current non-prohibited South Australian Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)

The salary applicable for this role is in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers' Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement, paid at Level 4 commencing at $93,952 per annum.
