  • The Whyalla City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic person to join our Childcare Centre as an Early Childhood Teacher. 

About the role:

The Early Childhood Teacher will provide leadership in delivering high-quality, inclusive programs meeting the requirements of the Early Years Learning Framework and curriculums. The role will model the effective application of pedagogy in teaching practice and will build and maintain strong, positive relationships with children and families while supporting the Childcare Centre Coordinator on a journey of continuous improvement.

About you:

To be considered for the role, you will enjoy forming ongoing professional relationships with children and families and hold the following qualifications and attributes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person who has:

  • Early Childhood Teacher qualification approved by ACECQA and a current Teachers’ registration
  • Current South Australian Working with Children Clearance (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain prior to commencement) a current certification in Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (including CPR and basic emergency life support), Food Safety Training for Food Handlers, National Child Safety, SIDs Safe Sleep and Responding to Abuse and Neglect Training.
  • Extensive understanding and knowledge of the National Quality Standards Framework and the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework
  • High level of integrity, honesty and a humble ‘can do’ attitude
  • A willingness to learn and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced changing environment

The salary applicable for this role is in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers' Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement, paid at Level 3 commencing at $85,152 per annum, pro rata for hours worked.
