National Sales Manager Detpak NZ

Detpak is a dynamic sales and marketing arm of the Detmold Group, created to specifically service the needs of the food industry. Detpak works with and supplies packaging solutions to some of New Zealand's biggest take-away food brands as well as customer groups including up-market coffee roasters, cafes, bakeries and a vast distribution network.

Reporting to the Country Manager, New Zealand we are seeking a self-starting leader to drive, manage and maintain a skilled, performing and engaged sales team. In a hands-on sales management role, you will strengthen Detpak’s current position and reputation within the New Zealand market through driving growth and market penetration strategies.  

 

The key responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Leading and managing the Detpak NZ Sales Team in accordance with Detmold Group people processes and strategies.
  •  Identifying, qualifying and selling to relevant customers and prospects, specifically in the National Accounts & Distributor market.
  •  Leading the Detpak Sales team strategy development, deployment and service delivery.
  •  Displaying positive leadership and communicating a clear vision within the Detpak New Zealand business.
  •  Maintaining a high level of awareness of market trends, competitor activity and marketing initiatives and disseminating relevant information to the Regional Sales Team.
  •  Driving sustainable growth within the Sales and Gross Margin budgets for Detpak New Zealand.
  •  Maintaining current market share and action strategies to create and capitalise on opportunities for extension within current key account accounts and markets.
  •  Partnering with Group Marketing Team to ensure business development and productivity initiatives are implemented with Detpak customers.
  •  Partnering with Group Supply Chain to ensure DIFOT targets are achieved and continuity of supply is maintained.
  •  Driving stock management to ensure the fast movement of excess, slow moving and obsolete inventory.
  •  Leading continuous improvement projects for Detpak NZ in conjunction with key stakeholders including freight, warehousing and customer service levels.

You will possess a well-developed understanding of sales and margin management, be proactive in approach and have the personal commitment that sees you persevere to achieve desired results as well as build your teams capabilities.  Your business acumen will ensure identification and conversion of sales and through your customer service focus you will develop and maintain strong customer relationships. Demonstrated negotiation skills and the ability to provide innovative solutions in the market place will be critical to your success.
