Support Workers – Albury/Wodonga

Due to recent growth DASSI are currently seeking to recruit experienced Support Workers in Albury Wodonga, and surrounding areas.

Experience in bowel care and working with clients with spinal cord injuries would be considered favourable but is not essential.

Long and short shifts are available.

If you are an experienced, qualified support worker committed to providing quality of care and making a difference to people’s lives, we would like to hear from you.

You must have a current driver’s license, a reliable registered car to attend allocated shifts and a Certificate 3 or 4 in Disability/ Aged Care/ Mental Health or of a similar related area.

Successful applicants will be required to provide a valid police check, working with children’s check and to have completed a First Aid certificate.

1. Genuine interest in working with people with a disability, the aged and frail, and those with challenging behaviours
2. Capable of building professional relationships with clients and family members while at the same time maintaining professional and role boundaries
3. The maturity to take responsibility for client support in a one-on-one situation and ability to be proactive and respond appropriately to emergencies
4. Empathy and a sense of responsibility in providing quality of care
5. Ability to commit to allocated shifts
6. Able to work effectively without supervision
7. Clear verbal and written communication skills and ability to provide feedback to office staff
8. Commitment to client confidentiality and privacy legislation and principles
9. Commitment to adhering to manual handling and OHS policies and procedures as trained
10. Current driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle comprehensively insured
