About the Role

We are looking for a full-time Baker (Day Shift) to join the team in our Glenfield, Auckland industrial bakery.

As a Baker you will be supporting the Team Leader in the muffins production line, measuring and mixing ingredients, maintaining the cleanliness of the mixing & weigh up area while ensuring best practices and high-quality standards. 

The shift: 45h/week Sunday to Friday, with flexibility required between 6am and 6pm, and opportunity for additional overtime.

Your key tasks and responsibilities include:

• Weigh and add the correct quantity of ingredients to mixer at the correct times.
• Monitor dough consistency, make necessary adjustments whilst communicating the times and reasons for changes.
• Competent understanding the key processing parameters from mixing, dough making, proofing, baking and being able to make appropriate adjustments.
• Escalate staffing, breakdown, safety, food safety and environmental issues to the appropriate manager, as per the escalation SOP.
• Monitor product quality and communicating issues and making appropriate adjustments when needed.
• Set up and inspect machinery to ensure efficient start up and smooth operation, dealing immediately with any issues that arise, escalating as appropriate.
• Completing process checks and filling out check sheets

In order to be considered for the role we prefer you possess the following:

• 2 years working successfully in the industrial food manufacturing industry with relevant qualifications in food preparation/safety or science preferred.
• Baker Qualifications will be highly regarded
• Role model food safety and health and safety requirements.
• The ability to understand the interaction between all roles and production requirements.
• The ability to lift up to 25 kilograms in a safe manner.
• Great communication skills and passion for food
• Be able to pass a pre-employment medical assessment including a Drug and Alcohol screening.
• All successful candidates must have working rights in NZ.
