ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a senior tax accountant to join our supportive team on a permanent, full-time basis. We welcome applicants seeking part-time opportunities, and flexible working arrangements will be considered.

As an Elders Senior Taxation Accountant, you will be an integral part of the team in assisting all tax compliance requirements, including income tax, GST, FBT, international tax, and statutory reporting.  The role will also be involved in ad hoc projects and other initiatives providing general taxation related support.

WHAT WILL I DO?

As a Senior Taxation Accountant, you will:

  • Prepare income tax, Fringe Benefits tax returns and business and instalment activity statements (including appropriate analyses)
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory reporting requirements relating to tax
  • Ensure risk, compliance and reporting practices are operating effectively to meet statutory requirements
  • Respond to income tax, FBT and GST queries, where required
  • Undertake tax related research and maintain a current working knowledge of all legislative and regulatory changes to tax
  • Be involved in projects and/or other initiatives; provide tax advice where changes have tax implications
  • Partner with finance function and various stakeholders, including external service providers, to ensure that appropriate systems, processes and controls are in place
  • Champion technical excellence when participating in tax training and updating your stakeholders

WHO AM I?

To succeed at Elders, you:

  • Are an experienced tax professional in a tax role in a large corporate environment or “Big 4” firm
  • Have a tertiary qualification (degree or higher) in Finance or like discipline
  • Are CA/CPA qualified or part thereof
  • Have a current working knowledge of Australian taxation legislation
  • Have exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Have excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills to accurately identify, evaluate and assess potential tax risks
  • Have demonstrated organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Are proficient in CCH Integrator (advantageous)
