Who are we?
Wintringham provides aged care services to those who are financially disadvantaged and have previously been homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless. We employ over 900 staff and our Eunice Seddon Home, located in Dandenong, offers affordable, high quality accommodation to 60 men and women aged 50 years and over. We provide a safe, flexible and caring family-style environment, which allows residents to maintain their chosen lifestyles, habits and activities and to be as independent as they choose to be.
The opportunity
We are currently seeking an eager and enthusiastic Enrolled Endorsed Nurse to join our friendly and dynamic residential team at Eunice Seddon Home in Dandenong on a Full Time basis. Your hours would be as follows:
Week 1&2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (0700-1500)
Reporting to the Site Manager, your responsibilities and duties will include:
- Overseeing the personal care and nursing functions within the hostel
- Ensuring that quality care is provided to all residents and that duty of care is met
- Assisting with the development and implementation of detailed personal care plans, assessments and programs as required
- Providing quality services in a manner which maintains and enhances the independence of residents and maximises their lifestyle options
- Liaise with doctors, nurses, other health care providers and the pharmacist to facilitate optimum health care and clinical practice for the residents
- Ensure that residents are encouraged to maintain their independence, and provide an environment that encourages residents to maintain lifestyles of their choice.
- Ensure that Quality of Care and Accreditation Standards are met.
What we require from you:
- Diploma/Cert IV in Nursing (with medication endorsement)
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Previous experience as a Care Manager is highly advantageous
- Experience in Aged Care + ACFI
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal + interpersonal
- The ability to manage effectively with conflicting deadlines
- Proven ability to lead a team of multi-disciplinary staff
- The ability to enhance or maintain our resident’s independence and lifestyle
- A friendly, approachable and non-judgmental attitude
