Your new role
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Care Support Nurse (RN1) to join our Wintringham – Eunice Seddon Home on a Full-Time basis. This exciting Grade 3 position aims at providing quality services in a manner that maintains and enhances the independence of residents and maximises their lifestyle options. In this role you will also ensure that Junior Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Care Staff are supported to provide resident care. Your role will support the Clinical Supervisor to develop and deliver on individualised support to residents. Your roster will be as below:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (0700 – 1506)
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (0700 – 1506)
Your responsibilities and duties will be as below but are not limited to:
• Conducting routine comprehensive assessments and aid in development of individual plans of care.
• Providing care services as detailed in the individual residents Plan of Care.
• Assessing and monitoring the care needs of all residents, in consultation with the Clinical Supervisor, Registered Nurse’s, Enrolled Nurses, Personal Care Workers and Domestic Staff.
• Supporting the Clinical Supervisor to coordinate staff and resources, to provide direct nursing care based on the residents plan of care.
• Directly supporting staff to assess residents changing care needs and complex nursing care.
• Applying critical thinking and analyse nursing practices, to provide safe, appropriate and responsive quality nursing care and support.
• Undertaking detailed clinical assessments of unwell residents (including medications), seek assistance as required, and complete a detailed report of interventions and outcomes.
• Responding to acute and/or emergency situations and notify Clinical Supervisor.
• Liaising directly with the Clinical Supervisor, to discuss any care concerns.
What we need from you:
• Postgraduate qualifications (Gerontology and/or Management) - Desirable
• Current AHPRA Registration – Registered Nurse Division 1 - Essential
• Sound Knowledge of the Aged Care Standards.
• Knowledge and understanding of the special needs of older people and multiple comorbidities.
• Experience in a senior lead role, responsible for staff management.
• Experience working with clients with challenging behaviour.
• Experience in the assessment and management of changes in clinical needs of older people.
• Proven ability to lead a team of multi-disciplinary staff.
• The ability to enhance or maintain our resident’s independence and lifestyle.
• A friendly, approachable and non-judgmental attitude.
