Playgroup Educator (Part-Time) Fixed Term up to June 2023

Council’s 3Bs playgroups deliver a diverse range of playgroup programs to families throughout Eurobodalla including story time, music time, and activities promoting reading, maths, science, creativity, social skills and physical abilities.

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic person who enjoys working with children to contribute to a safe, healthy and caring education and care service.

The Playgroup Educator’s role is to assist the coordinator in the provision of quality playgroups with a focus on supporting parents as the child’s first teacher, nature-based play, transition to school and the early years learning framework.  Working closely with the Coordinator and the Children’s Services team, this is a diverse role that requires an experienced, dynamic person with a great understanding of early childhood learning and development as well as the ability to support and build rapport with families.

To apply for this position, you must be 21 years of age or above and hold various certificates outlined in the Information Package.   This is a physically active job that includes lifting and moving equipment, and the successful candidate must also have the ability and willingness to drive a van.  This is a part time position working a minimum of 18 hours per week. Hours will vary depending on playgroup start times and will be negotiated with your supervisor.

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $36.72 to $39.12 gross per hour consisting of:

  • $33.53 to $35.73 base salary,
  • $3.19 to $3.39 superannuation (at 9.5%)
