The Opportunity

Your role will be to work collaboratively with the college Campus Managers and staff to provide skills coaching and learning support to students. Applicants must have and be able to demonstrate experience in engaging classroom students through the use of various technologies, online workshops and webinars and a variety of interactive means.

 

The Duties & Responsibilities of the role are as follows:-

  • Working with students using a variety of communication modes to develop language and literacy, study skills, soft skills and build confidence across all areas of learning.
  • Developing individual learning support solutions for students across a wide demographic including EAL, learners with barriers to learning and 2nd chance learners
  • Creating innovative educational experiences through workshops and one on one individual sessions for students requiring additional support and coaching to achieve diploma level competency
  • Assistance in development of learning resources
  • Working and communicating with a dedicated team of professionals to support student encouragement, engagement and skills growth.
  • Weekly reporting to Team Leader and meeting attendance
  • Scheduling of workshops and individual contact/training sessions
  • Daily liaison with branch tutors and branch managers to ensure seamless provision of an exceptional experience to all students
  • Travel between college branches as required to provide the above support

Your Skills & Experience

  • Relevant qualification in adult education
  • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment with LLN unit or TESOL
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years relevant industry experience preferably in the VET sector
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring adult learners

You will also have:

  • An ability to build relationships with staff and students in a face to face situation and over the phone
  • A proactive and resourceful attitude
  • An initiative to drive programs daily as required by each individual student and college branch
  • An ability to present engaging, interactive workshops to students both face to face and via internet technology
  • Highly developed technology skills, including Microsoft suite, Skype or similar and Ipad communication applications
  • Patience, passion and interest to help others without bias
  • A willingness and openness to learn, develop new skills and share ideas with colleagues
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to complete a Driver's Declaration
