 The Opportunity

You will identify student's personal strengths and career aspirations and use your skills to build a bridge to their employment.  You will assist the student in the transitions from college to the workforce and be a link with the industry.  The Vocational Placement Officer (VPO) will manage the process of helping our students articulate and pursue their dreams.  You will have the ability to inspire others to pursue and achieve their dreams by offering them links to the workforce. 

Our organisational culture is our point of difference from other RTOs and forms the core of Evocca College.  We are looking for people that believe and demonstrate our business values of Determination, Passion, Trust, Growth, and Excellence.  Due to rapid growth we are now seeking a qualified Vocational Placement Officer to join our Springwood Branch.  You will report directly to our Career Pathway Manager and be accountable for:

  • case management including coaching and mentoring of students
  • coordinating in-house job readiness programs and identifying relevant external programs that will give students and graduates a kick-start in their career
  • outcomes focussed with an end-game to ensure placement and track further achievements for all students and graduates
  • building strong relationships with key stakeholders such as local and state government, employment agencies and other business and community organisations
  • negotiating effective placements for students

Your Skills & Experience

  • 3 years min industry experience in coaching, work placement, or people development
  • Diploma is required for this role
  • TAE40110 Cert IV in Training & Assessment
  • Relevant JSA or DES experience is highly regarded
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Open driver’s license
  • Able to work autonomously and as a wider team
  • Must be able to provide evidence of KPI outcomes

You will also have:

  • Eligibility to become a member of relevant membership bodies
  • An ability to build relationships over the phone and face to face
  • A proactive, resourceful, attitude and initiative
  • A passion for helping others
  • Must have permanent residency or a visa that permits full-time work valid for at least 2 years (copies will be requested)
  • If you are successful in securing this position you will be required to undergo a police check
