Male Disability Support Worker

A gentleman in Brookfield is looking for an easy going, positive and dedicated worker to join his team. He enjoys gardening, cooking and getting out and about in the community. He also loves animals and has 2 dogs of his own. He has a wonderfully quirky sense of humor and a great memory for people, events, and other interesting details. His ideal support worker will have shared interests and be flexible, kind, patient and empathetic. The position requires someone who is comfortable managing seizure activities and who can work with behaviors that need soothing and de-escalating at times when he is triggered.

Shifts:

  • 1 x Weekday shift - 10am - 2pm (flexible start and finish times)
  • 1 x weekend shift - 10am - 2pm (flexible start and finish times)
  • Flexibility / availability to pick up shifts when workers are on leave

The Role:

  • Assistance with Daily Living
  • Community Participation & Transport
  • Personal care / Self Care
  • Assistance with household tasks

Pay Rates (paid under ABN):

  • Weekdays - $50 – $55 (depending on experience)
  • Weekends - $75 Saturday and $95 Sunday  

Requirements:

  • Drivers license and own vehicle
  • Non-smoker
  • Pet Friendly
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check / Police Check
  • First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Reasonable location to Brookfield area
  • Rights to work in Australia

Highly regarded:

  • Experience managing seizures
  • Understanding / experience working with behaviors of difference
