Itzy Bitzy Tots first started in 2003 with a vision to provide quality childcare and early education, in a safe and supportive environment.

With a background in design and development all of our early learning education centres are purpose-built, allowing children to learn and grow through play, whether it’s a state of the art new structure or converting a heritage listed church, each Itzy Bitzy Tots Centre offers a unique and interesting learning environment.

We provide a play based learning program guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), a National Early Years Curriculum that extends from the children’s interests. We create settings to invite experiences, interactions, risk-taking, discovery, connections to nature, conversations, play and collaboration.

Our Educators
Our team of educators are passionate and qualified teaching within the early childhood sector. Our Educators are responsive to both children and their families and their changing needs, interests and abilities.

Our Facilities
All of our centres offer our spacious, natural outdoor environments promote a healthy learning space where children can get in touch with nature, enjoy our gardens, outdoor play equipment, bike tracks as well as sensory experiences.

Meals and Nutrition
Our centres provide breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea as well as a late afternoon snack. All of our meals are prepared by our in-house cooks and meet the Australian Nutritional Guidelines.

About the role

The role of an early childhood educator is to support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children’s wellbeing, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or on their own within a team.

While you may be interested in working with children there are some key traits that everyone working in the child care and early learning sector needs:

  • You need to be good with and genuinely interested in many different types of people • You must highly value education and learning for people of all ages
  • You should be comfortable doing a variety of different types of work (including light physical outdoor work and indoor written work)
  • You must be able to pass a Working with Children Check and police check.

 

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • ensuring the health and safety of children
  • providing care for children
  • promoting and providing healthy food and drinks
  • providing care for babies and toddlers
  • developing positive and respectful relationships with children
  • using an approved learning framework to guide your practice
  • supporting the holistic development of children in early childhood
  • providing experiences to support children’s play and learning
  • using information about children to inform practice
  • identifying and responding to children and young people at risk
  • providing emergency first aid
  • working within a legal and ethical framework.

 

The minimum qualification required for an early childhood educator is the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
