Who are we?

Wintringham is a not-for-profit organisation providing an extensive range of aged care, housing and related support services to men and women aged 50-plus who have been homeless or at risk of homelessness.  We employ over 1000 staff and operate from multiple offices across Melbourne, regional Victoria and Tasmania. Our Head Office provides the strategic direction and support services for Wintringham’s residential, housing and community care services.

 

Your new role

Wintringham is seeking an experienced finance professional with strong leadership skills to join our expanding finance team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, key functions of this position is preparation of monthly management accounts and supervising the Financial Accountants and Accounts Payable Team Leaders.  The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with staff at various levels of the organisation, as well as external stakeholders, clients, and their families.

 

Your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Leading and managing the Finance Operations team, including hands on support and mentoring
  • Oversee the preparation of the monthly management accounts and provide analysis.
  • Manage daily cash flow needs and maintain up to date banking records.
  • Oversight of monthly government funding reconciliation and claims.
  • Streamlining finance functions through continuous process improvement.

 

We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Extensive working knowledge of accounting disciplines including financial and management accounting, as well as systems development and improvement.
  • An inquisitive mindset with investigative and problem-solving skills.
  • A proven track record in people management and an effective communicator who builds strong relationships across the organisation.
  • Tertiary and CA/CPA qualified
