Peak season is here, and we are currently seeking an experienced Guest Service Agent (GSA) to join the team based at our Booking Centre Office in the Cairns CBD. We are looking for a long-term employee with a minimum 12-month tenure for training and progression. Please attach a cover letter outlining your experience and commitment.

Position Overview:

Working at the City Booking Centre you will perform general GSA duties across all facets of front office operations including front desk duties, reservations and switch. You will be the first point of contact for Resort Guests and day trippers, welcoming them to the start of their journey. Reporting to the Office Manager, you aim to deliver a memorable, comfortable and positive experience for our guests. 

You may be required to work at the Island Resort on an occasional basis. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service, with the ability to problem solve.
  • Manage guest check-in, administration, payment processing, inbox management & switch. 
  • Confidently and accurately utilise PMS, Manifesting and other reservations systems. 
  • Preparing quotes for reservations, tour sales & bookings as well as other duties as directed.
  • Maintain and communicate current knowledge of all room categories, rates and packages and promotions available.
  • Promote Island and water-based activities, along with events and other activities.
  • Opening and closing procedures of the Booking Centre office as per the scheduled business hours.

About You:

Successful applicants would have a minimum of 1-year of experience in a similar position in a 4–5-star hotel and possess the following attributes:

  • Passion for customer service and the Hospitality and Tourism Industry. 
  • Demonstrated experience with producing reports, compiling data, dealing with enquiries including general bookings, managing changes and cancellations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer software packages including Guest Centrix & Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Experience with SiteMinder, Rezdy, WIM and Reservations would be an advantage.
