What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for a capable and committed Payroll & Finance Officer with a keen eye for accuracy and compliance, and a willingness to grow with us. To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing, preferably using systems like Employment Hero, or other financial systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards, superannuation, and leave entitlements
  • High attention to detail and exceptional numerical accuracy
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with HR, Finance, and other departments
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Commitment to confidentiality and managing sensitive employee data
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with digital payroll platforms
  • A customer service mindset with a focus on internal client satisfaction

 

Your Role:

As our Payroll & Finance Officer, you will ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and provide essential support to staff across the organisation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Payroll Processing: Prepare and process fortnightly payroll accurately and in compliance with relevant laws and awards
  • Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date employee records, leave balances, and superannuation contributions
  • Reporting: Generate payroll reports for management, finance, and compliance requirements
  • Employee Support: Respond to payroll queries from employees in a professional and timely manner
  • Compliance: Ensure all payroll activities comply with current legislation and internal policies
  • System Improvement: Contribute to improving payroll systems and internal controls
  • Support core financial operations, including accounts receivable, customer debt recovery, daily transactions, general ledger reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
