About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Health, Fitness & Wellbeing Team Lead to lead and innovate health and fitness programs for people with disability across the Illawarra and Nowra regions.

This role is responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring safe, effective and participant-centred fitness and wellbeing programs aligned with NDIS goals and Flagstaff’s service delivery model. You will lead a team of over 10 staff across full-time, part-time and casual employment streams, while working closely with participants, families and key stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes.

What Will My Role Entail? 

  • Lead and upskill Life Skills and School to Work Support Workers.
  • Manage staff performance, provide constructive feedback and support ongoing development.
  • Lead, design and innovate health, fitness and wellbeing programs aligned to participant goals and NDIS plans
  • Collaborate closely with participants to understand their fitness goals and develop individualized and group-based programs
  • Create, implement and monitor fitness programs using PhysiTrack, ensuring progress is tracked and outcomes are reviewed
  • Maintain a strong focus on participant and staff safety, safe exercise practices, and risk management
  • Interpret NDIS plans and set SMART goals aligned with individual needs.
  • Prepare assessments, reports, progress notes and evidence supporting NDIS funding requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with NDIS Quality & Safeguards.
  • Oversee scheduling, rostering and service delivery across Life Choices programs in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven region.
  • Identify and implement system, program and process improvements
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with schools, families, carers, community partners and internal teams.

About You

This role is well suited to candidates from a range of health, fitness and allied health backgrounds, including: Exercise Professionals, Allied Health Assistants, Nutrition or Wellbeing Professionals. What matters most is your ability to lead, inspire and support learning. You will bring:

  • Certificate IV in Fitness is a mandatory requirement for this role
  • Tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Education, Training & Assessment OR 2+ years relevant experience.
  • High-level communication skills and confidence engaging with a wide range of people.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent digital and administrative capability (Microsoft Suite + internal systems).
  • Experience using PhysiTrack (or similar fitness/allied health software) to create and monitor programs
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly between Illawarra and Nowra
  • A genuine commitment to supporting people with a disability to achieve life, learning and independence goals.
  • Current NSW Driver’s License.
  • CPR & First Aid Training certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • National Police Check, Working With Children Check & NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to obtain).
