About the Opportunity

Flavorite is undergoing a high level of growth and have an exciting opportunity for an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Scout to join their dedicated team in Warragul, VIC.  

Reporting directly to the IPM Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day to day IPM strategies in your designated area, as well as providing accurate and concise crop reports.

Some of your responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Identifying pests and diseases harmful to crops;
  • Implementing and conducting pest and disease prevention programs including chemical and biological applications;
  • Maintaining and reviewing levels of beneficial insects;
  • Monitoring employee adherence to Flavorite's hygiene policies and practices;
  • Participating in eradication of pest and disease via bio-control and spraying application; and
  • Assisting in developing a whole farm plan for the season in your area in conjunction with other IPM members.

To be successful, you will have a Certificate III in Horticulture or other relevant tertiary qualifications combined with experience in the identification of pests and diseases, preferably in tomatoes and/ or capsicum crops. You will also have a keen interest in the horticultural industry.

You will bring a positive, 'can do' approach with the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment. You will possess outstanding interpersonal and communications skills giving you the ability to build strong relationships.

Your proven analytical skills and high attention to detail will be keys to your success in this role. You must also posses basic computer skills.

A chemical users licence and forklift licence will be highly regarded, however are not essential.
